The athlete: Dan comes to Vanguard from Solano Community College where he was an impact player for the Falcons in the Bay Valley East Conference…averaging seven points and eight rebounds in his two-year career at SCC, Dan was a second-team All-Conference player as a sophomore…graduated from Dixon High School in 2002 where he played for Coach George Skezas…earned All-League Honorable Mention…was a four-sport high school athlete…has played basketball for 12 years…brings good size and solid basketball skills to the lineup…will be a big offensive, defensive, and rebounding presence inside for the Lions…has two seasons of eligibility remaining…brings good experience and the potential to develop his game as the season progresses…hard worker who is ready to put in some battles in the paint for his new team…expect some quality play from Wojan.

The person: Daniel Rodrick Wojan was born in Vallejo, California on June 12, 1984…parents are Ron and Cindy Wojan…has one brother and one sister…nickname is "Big D"…is pursuing a degree in Business Administration…sports hero is Shaquille Oneal…loves to eat Baby Back Ribs and watch "Sports Center" on television…favorite movie is "The Rock"…roots for the Oakland Athletics…loves the color blue and the number 32…enjoys going to the lake, hanging out with friends, playing sports, shooting, and playing Play Station…would like to meet Sara Evans…thinks that starvation is the biggest problem in the world…has learned that life has ups and downs…playing basketball has taught him to be committed to something…wants to be successful in the future.

His thoughts: Dan picked Vanguard because it is a great school in a great location, and appreciates the small class sizes.

Coach Wilson’s Comments: Dan could be the big body we are looking for to make us a playoff team. He is a good student who gets along with teammates and coaches and will be valuable to Vanguard as a good citizen and basketball player.
