Steve Trumbo begins his first year as an assistant coach to Coach Bill Reynolds. He brings with him some impressive credentials. After playing high school basketball in Orange County at El Modena High School, Trumbo went on to an outstanding career at BYU in Provo, Utah. Following his college career, Trumbo played professionally in Spain for thirteen years.

He began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Chapman University. In the last two seasons, he was the top assistant at BYU Hawaii. In both seasons he helped lead the Seasiders to an appearance in the NAIA National Tournament. "Steve will bring new expertise to our staff," commented Reynolds. "He has numerous recruiting contacts, plus he has a great working knowledge of the game."

Steve and his wife Carolina live in Orange. They have five children Giovanni, Axel, Kassandra, Isaac, and Dakota.
