Josh joins the Vanguard Basketball family as a first-year assistant coach in 2010-2011. Sanderson is no stranger to GSAC basketball, having played four seasons for conference foe Point Loma Nazarene. Developing from a walk-on at PLNU to an All-GSAC player as a senior, Sanderson helped Point Loma earn a trip to the NAIA National Tournament in 2008. Sanderson averaged 14.6 points and 4.5 assists per game that season, earning Honorable Mention All-American honors for his terrific campaign.

After graduating from PLNU in 2008, Sanderson played on season of professional basketball in Germany. He returned to California after a successful season, and reunites with former on-court rivals Brian Roberts and Levi Seekins on the Lions' staff. Sanderson is another quality addition, and will work primarily with the guards.
