Vanguard University

Jared joins the Vanguard University coaching staff for the first time.  Mandville enters the collegiate ranks as Coach French’s main assistant and will take on a huge role for the team.  He brings enthusiasm and competitiveness to his new position, along with an eager desire to learn.  The part-time assistant will assume coaching duties on the court as well spending time scouting and recruiting for the Lions.

Mandvillle’s coaching history leads to Newport Harbor High School where he worked for VU alumnus Larry Hirst.  Jared coached three years at NHHS as the Junior Varsity Head Coach and as Hirst’s assistant for the Varsity squad.  In that span, NHHS produced a 64-18 record and reached the CIF Quarter-finals two times.

Mandville competed at the collegiate level for Bethany College before transferring to Vanguard University to finish his undergraduate degree.  He completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise & Sports Science at Vanguard in December of 1999, and received his Teaching Credential from VU in the year 2000.

“Vanguard University is a top notch institution, both in academics and athletics,” says Mandville.  “I feel very fortunate to be a part of the school and this basketball program under the guidance of Coach French.”

Mr. Mandville is a full-time Physical Education Teacher at TeWinkle Middle School in Costa Mesa.  He is single and resides in Mission Viejo.
