Coach
Foster returns to Vanguard for his second season as a part-time
assistant coach. He came to the Lion coaching staff as an assistant
coach last year after spending the two previous years as an assistant
coach at Point Loma Nazarene University. His duties will consist of
recruiting, scouting and the day to day operations of the program. B.J.
brings great knowledge of the game and personal GSAC experience to the
basketball program. He has been to the NAIA National Basketball
Tournament three times in his career, once as a coach and twice as a
player. He is extremely competitive and will play a large role in the
personal development of players within Vanguard’s program.
Coach Foster’s playing experience consists of three years at Point
Loma Nazarene University from 1998 through 2001 and one year at Biola
University, where he helped the Eagles win the 2002 Golden State
Athletic Conference Championship. He was a three-time All-GSAC player
and two-time NAIA Honorable Mention All-America selection.
B.J. states, "I wanted to be a part of Vanguard Basketball because
of the great respect other coaches in the conference have for Coach
Wilson. I am looking forward to learning from a great teacher."
Coach Foster, who resides in Costa Mesa, is also the Co-Director of
the Intramural Sports Program at Vanguard and is engaged to be married.
He hopes to be a collegiate head coach some day. BJ can be reached via
