The athlete:  Brendan was a catcher on the VU baseball team last year, but begins his collegiate basketball career this season…was a two-sport athlete at Fountain Valley High School where he led the team in scoring and rebounding…FVHS Team MVP…All-Sunset League selection for basketball…graduated from FVHS in 2000…6’3” guard missed the game of basketball…will have to learn the VU system and adjust to the collegiate competition…adds depth and athleticism to the team…competitive athlete…will challenge for time on the court this season.

The person:  Brendan was born January 30, 1982 in Long Beach, California to Rick and Dash Cotter…youngest of two sons…people call him “B” for short…majoring in Business Administration…loves the movie “Remember the Titans” and the TV show “Friends”…sports hero is Michael Jordan…favorite teams are the LA Lakers and the Dallas Cowboys…hobbies include bodyboarding, playing Nintendo, and playing golf…likes to eat chicken…his favorite place to be is at his Grandparents’ house…feels that ignorance is the biggest problem in the world…has learned that good things happen to good people…competing in athletics has taught him that hard work is the only way to succeed…likes the unity on the VU team…wants to become a Stockbroker.

His thoughts:  I chose VU because of the location, the athletic programs, and the small class sizes.  The teachers and students are all very friendly.
