The athlete: Zachary begins his second full season as a Lion after starting 34 of 38 games in 2008…tied for the team lead with 20 RBIs while batting .241 with 28 hits, six doubles, a homer and a pair of steals…joined the Lions after spending sophomore season at Cuesta Community College in San Luis Obispo, California, playing for Head Coach Bob Miller in the West Coast Conference…hit two homers in an extra inning win to advance them in the playoffs…graduated in 2003 from South Umpqua High School in Tri-City, Oregon where he played for Head Coach John O’Malley in the Fat West Conference…Second Team All-State and Oregon All-Star performer…multi-talented athlete that was All-League in Basketball, Offensive Player of the Year in football, First Team QB Marines Athlete of the Year…bats and throws right…versatile, can play any infield position…good power…solid defender.

The person: Zachary Rollin Marden Falk was born on April 23, 1984 in Canyonville, Oregon to parents Greg and Marcia…has four siblings…people just call him Zack…Business Administration major…enjoys eating at ‘the caf” and strawberry ice cream…favorite movie is “Nacho Libre”….enjoys watching “Saved by the Bell” on TV…likes the color brown and the number nine…sports hero is Sonny Behrends…favorite actor is Owen Wilson…learned that life is what you make it…baseball has taught him that love is blind.
