Vanguard University

The athlete: Tom returns for his third year at Vanguard…sat out last spring due a knee injury…is recovering from knee surgery and hopes to make a difference for the Lions as a sophomore…previously played baseball at Bolsa Grande High School… was All-Garden Grove League in 1999 and 2000…bats and throws right handed…played in 10 games as a freshman…knocked in three runs and had one home run…has worked hard to return to the team this season…has an explosive bat and should contribute quite a bit offensively for Vanguard.

The person: Tom was born on February 25, 1982 in Fullerton, CA…parents are Steven and Cyndy Baeder…has a twin sister Debby who is also a Vanguard athlete…majoring in English…likes to watch “The Simpsons”…favorite color is purple… likes the team’s “Bomb Squad”…baseball had taught him how to be competitive…wants to become an English professor.

His thoughts: I came to Vanguard because my brother Sam and my friend Mike Bair played on the team.
