The athlete:  Ryan comes to VUSC after spending the past two seasons with Head Coach Scott Douglas at Trinidad State Junior College in Trinidad, Colorado…was 1-0 with 12.2 innings pitched with seven strikeouts…graduated from Resurrection Christian High School in Loveland, Colorado where he was an All-State Pitcher and Team MVP in 2006 with Head Coach Tad Carls…had a 1.06 ERA and 98 strikeouts as a senior in only 45 innings pitched…also played basketball and golf…has been playing baseball for 15 years…bats and throws right.

The person:  Ryan was born in Fort Collins, Colorado to parents Steve and Rose on April 23, 1988…has two older brothers…Religion major…enjoys eating Mexican food and coffee ice cream…favorite movie is “Dumb and Dumber” and TV Show is “The Simpsons”…likes the color red and the number 17…favorite Bible verse is Ecc. 9:10…sports hero is Pudge Rodriguez…likes wakeboarding…most respects his dad because he is hard working and a Spiritual role model…learned in life to never give up, and to always listen to God…baseball has taught him about perseverance…would like to become a youth pastor.

His thoughts:  I selected Vanguard because of the Religion department and the people.
