The athlete: Ryan begins his first season with Vanguard…joins the Lions after playing one season at Reedley College…also played baseball at Immanuel High School…bats and throws right…skilled utility player with the ability to play just about any position…good bat will help get him in the lineup more…brings versatility and some collegiate experience…will add depth to the overall lineup.

The person: Ryan was born on March 3, 1983 in Selma, CA…parents are Rod and Pam Clifton…majoring in Business Administration…likes to watch “The Simpsons”… favorite food is Chinese…roots for the Giants and the Cowboys…would like to meet Emmitt Smith…like the chemistry of this year’s team…sports has taught him to never give up…wants to become a Police Officer.

His thoughts: I came Vanguard to play baseball. I enjoy its proximity to the beach.
