The athlete:  Robert joins the Lions for his freshman year of eligibility though he is a senior academically…graduated in 2004 from Valley High School in Santa Ana, California where he played for Head Coach Luke Machennan in the Orange League…1^st Team All-League senior season when he batted .376 and played in the Orange County All-Star Game…2^nd Team All-League as a junior when he hit .385…has played baseball 16 years…bats and throws right…solid receiver with a good arm…knows the game…plays with ease…solid contact hitter.

The person:  Roberto Vazquez was born to parents Roberto and Maria in Fountain Valley, California on March 14, 1986…has two younger sisters…nickname is “Benji”…majoring Kinesiology and hopes to teach and coach…likes eating at “Old Spaghetti Factory”…favorite movie is “Lion King” and TV show is “CSI”…likes the color blue and the number 11…favorite Scripture is Philippians 2:3-4…roots for the San Diego Padres…sports hero is Trevor Hoffman…enjoys playing the guitar, listening to music and sports…most respects his parents for their constant love and sacrifices…baseball has taught him about team work and perseverance…would like to be a PE teacher and baseball coach.
