The athlete: Robert begins his collegiate career at VU in 2003…graduated from Calvin Christian High School in 2002…named to the first-team All-Coastal League his senior season…also participated in soccer and cross country in high school…bats and throws right…should see most of his action in middle or spot relief situations…first-year athlete with good potential…should gain some experience this season and pad the bullpen choices for the Lions.

The person: Robert was born on January 17, 1984 in Escondido, CA…parents are Rock and Teri Klein…majoring in Religion…plays the guitar in a band…cheers for the Dodgers…enjoys watching “Sports Center”…sports has taught him about concentration…likes the team’s “pitching squad” this year…wants to become a high school youth pastor and a high school counselor.

His thoughts: I decided to come to Vanguard because I like the location and the Christian environment. I really enjoy the spiritual side of the students at VU.
