The athlete: Nik joins the Lions after spending the last two years at Saddleback College…played under coach Jack Hodges…part of the team that finished second in the state…grew up in Vista, California and went to Vista High School… played football and competed in wrestling…adds size and power to the line up…has a very competitive attitude and works hard to succeed…brings a powerful bat to the VU program…will strengthen the middle of the offensive line up…plays the game with a lot of enthusiasm and has a strong presence on the field…could have a great first year as a Lion.

The person: Nikolaus was born in San Diego, California on January 26, 1983…the son of Bruce and Susan Crouch…is a Exercise Sports Science major…is a die hard San Diego Padre and San Diego Charger fan…sports hero is Tony Gwynn…favorite movie is “Pirates of the Caribbean”…favorite food is steak and potatoes…best things about this year’s team are that the players get along on and off the field and work hard…athletics has taught him to work hard and how to be a leader…person he would love to meet is Britney Spears…wants to become a teacher and a coach.  

His thoughts: I chose Vanguard because of the location, and my dad works here. I really enjoy the Christian atmosphere, and like the people that make up the campus.
