The athlete: Matt has started at shortstop for the past three seasons for the Lions…is the only four-year player on the roster…was an all-league player and two-sport athlete at Katella High School…bats right and throws right…returns expecting to have a successful senior season…batted .294 last season…second on team in runs scored…led team in being hit by pitch(18), stolen bases, and assists…athletic player…senior captain…team leader on and off the field…has had a great four-year career for the Lions…look for a great finish from Matt.

The person: Matt was born September 20, 1980 in Anaheim, California…parents are Jack and Kathy Tisthammer…teammates call him “Platinum”…majoring in Exercise Sports Science…likes to eat French toast…favorite team is the World Champion Anaheim Angels…favorite TV shows are the Bachelor and Baseball Tonight…believes the world’s biggest problem is hatred…takes an active leadership role in FCA on campus…baseball has taught him to be consistent…likes the high expectations and goals of the team this season.
