The athlete: Mario begins his Lion career as a sophomore after spending his freshman year at Cerritos College in Norwalk, California with Head Coach Ken Gaylord…graduated in 2005 from Los Altos High School in Hacienda Heights, California where he was a two-time First-Team All-Miramonte league selection…played for Head Coach Keith Prager and was the 2006 Team MVP…bats and throws right…has played baseball for 15 years…also played five years of club ball for the San Gabriel Valley Arsenal Baseball Club.

The person: Mario A. Romero was born in Whittier, California on April 4, 1988 to parents Ralph and Carmen…has two older sisters…majoring in History/Political Science…likes eating sushi and at “Chipotle”…favorite movie is “Wedding Crashers” and TV show is “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”…likes the color green and the number 22…roots for the USC Trojans and the LA Dodgers…sports hero is Russell Martin…says loyalty is the most important characteristic for a person to have…most respects his mom for her ability to manage so many things and her loving spirit…learned that life has many tough obstacles, but it rewards those people that persevere…baseball has taught him about life and how to accept failure and thrive…would like to be a High School History teacher and coach.
