The athlete:  Kyle joins the Lions for his junior season after spending two years with Head Coach D.J. Whittemore at Western Nevada Community College in Carson City, NV…drew 101 walks in two years and batted .306…played in the JUCO World Series and was part of the Western Regional Champions…two-time Gold Glove, All-Conference and All-Star at Basic High School in Henderson, NV for Head Coach Mike Kazek…batted .411 and was named Best Offensive Player…also played tennis…has played baseball for 15 years…bats and throws right…can play second or shortstop…knows how to win…patient hitter with a solid glove.

The person:  Kyle was born in Las Vegas, NV on February 17, 1987 to parents Jeff and Stacey…is an only child…nickname is “Bondo”…Business major…enjoys eating steak and chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream…favorite movie is “Dumb and Dumber” and “Baseball Tonight” is his favorite TV show…likes the color blue and the number two…roots for the Atlanta Braves and his sports hero Chipper Jones…hobbies include baseball and Guitar Hero…most respects his parents because they have built  the foundation of his life…learned in life that the material things can’t be valued higher that those things that matter most…baseball has taught him persistence and dedication…career goal is to play professional baseball and start his own business.

His thoughts:  I chose Vanguard because of its great environment and because it’s close to home.
