The athlete: Kenneth comes to VUSC for his junior season after two years at College of the Desert in Palm Desert, California…played for Head Coach Dave Buttles in the Foothill Conference…batted .350 and was a 2007 All-Conference and Scholar Athlete selection…graduated in 2000 from Canyon Springs High School in Moreno Valley, California where he played for Head Coach Frank Gonzales…played seven years of travel ball with ABD, Ciba and for Team USA at the Pan American Games…bats left and throws right…gap to gap hitter with a good arm…strong, athletic behind the plate…has played baseball for 20 years. 

The person: Kenneth Justin Dobbs was born in Los Angeles, California to parents Ken and Monica on January 2, 1982…brother Greg plays third base for the Philadelphia Phillies…nickname is Dobber…Business Administration major….likes eating sushi and oatmeal cookie crunch ice cream…likes watching “Family Guy” on TV and “Major League” is his favorite movie…likes the color white and number 29…roots for the Philadelphia Phillies…sports hero is his brother…says it’s important for people to have loyalty…most respects his father because he’s always positive…learned in life that it’s not easy, always changing and to always work hard…baseball has taught him to work with others, responsibility and work ethic…career goal is to own his own business and raise a family.

His thoughts: I came to Vanguard because of the great faculty, coach, community and business program.
