The athlete:  Keegan comes to VUSC from Buchanan High School in Clovis…graduated in 2006, carrying a 3.93 GPA in the classroom and earning the Golden State Seal Merit Award…named his team’s Infield Golden Glove Award as he competed for Coach Tom Donald…helped BHS win back-to-back CIF Division I Central Section Valley Championships…also played for the Central Valley Twins…has played baseball for as long as he can remember…begins his collegiate career with the Lions…good feet…great hands…talented and versatile defender…bats right…throws right…unlimited potential for the Lions…brings in quality experience as a freshman…could be ready to make a big impression in his debut season.

The person:  Keegan Charles Freeman was born in Fresno, California on December 25, 1987…parents are Charles and Kathy Freeman…has one brother…plans to major in Business or Marketing…sports heroes are Alex Rodriguez and Craig Biggio…likes to eat sushi…favorite movie is “Braveheart” and TV show is “That 70’s Show”…loves the color blue and the number four…roots for the Houston Astros…favorite place is Hawaii…loves playing baseball…would like to meet Ozzie Smith…enjoys the companionship of his teammates…has learned that you have to break old habits to begin new good habits…competing in baseball has taught him about discipline, humility, and to relax in order to perform…wants to become someone that is pleasing to God.

His thoughts:  I came to Vanguard because of the location and the baseball team, and to be surrounded by God.  I really like the friends I’ve made.
