The athlete:  Kaleo transfers in with a solid resume’ from Kapa’a High School in Hawaii, and Saddleback College in Mission Viejo…earned All-State and All-Conference in high school where he also played football and basketball…graduated from KHS in 2000…played two seasons for Saddleback where he also found athletic success on the baseball field…has played baseball as long as he can remember…left-handed pitcher…throws a hard, lively ball…can hit as well…junior transfer with quality experience…expected to be a starting pitcher this season…big pick up for the Lions.

The person:  Kaleo Elijah was born in Kauai, Hawaii on May 16, 1982…parents are Patrick and Ilima Lopez…has four younger siblings…nickname is “Fox”…sports hero is Bo Jackson…likes to eat seafood…roots for the Atlanta Braves…favorite movie is “Knock Around Guys”…enjoys surfing and riding motorbikes…would like to meet Bob Marley…likes how everyone gets along on the VU baseball team…has learned that life isn’t easy…playing baseball has taught him to compete…wants to become something successful.
