The athlete:  Jordan begins his first season after taking a red shirt in 2007 and after a solid high school career at Calvary Chapel High School in Costa Mesa…played for Coach Ryan Elliott at CCHS in the Pacific Coast League…named Best Defensive Player…team captain who also won the Coaches’ Award while helping CC win the 2006 PCL Championship and reach the CIF Semifinals…had a 5-1 pitching record and carried a 3.5 in the classroom…has played baseball for 14 years…right-handed pitcher…good mechanics…throws strikes…hard worker with finesse and poise.

The person:  Jordan Curtis Wishmyer was born in Orange, California on March 11, 1988…parents are Randy and Dorie…has one younger sister who is also an athlete…nickname is “Wishy”…will major in Kinesiology at Vanguard…likes to eat at Chipotle…sports hero is Jackie Robinson…favorite TV show is “Baseball Tonight”…loves the color blue and the number 16…favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13…roots for the LA Dodgers…enjoys working out, hanging out, wakeboarding and water skiing…most respects his father for all the things he has taught him…learned that life has its up and downs…baseball has taught him work ethic, determination and patience.

His thoughts:  I feel that God led me to Vanguard.  I really enjoy the community and the people.
