The athlete: Jason begins his third season as a Lion after coming off of a very productive sophomore year…batted .296 with 41 runs batted…started in all 50 games for VU…was a three-sport athlete at Novato High School…holds six baseball records at his former high school…two-time 1^st-Team All-MCAL player…bats right and throws right…made 17 appearances on the mound in 2003…pitched 45.0 innings…can play many positions, very versatile…will provide some leadership and offensive stability in the middle of the line up…is a competitive hitter from the right side…looking to have a career-year as a junior…has been a great asset to the Lions program…should be another impressive year for Searle in 2004.

The person: Jason was born on July 2, 1983 in San Francisco, California…parents are Ken and Diane Searle…has two sisters…nickname is “Pup”…majoring in History/ Political Science…likes to eat Chinese food…favorite movie is “Gladiator”…roots for the San Francisco Giants…enjoys Xbox, reading and studying…favorite place is Wales…would like to meet Michael Jordan…feels that this year’s team will decide its own destiny…sports has taught him patience…wants to become a high school teacher and coach.
