The athlete: Jason brings loads of experience to the Lions as he begins his final collegiate season…spent his junior season with Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn at San Diego State University where he appeared in five games…had a pair of hits and an RBI while being a Dean’s List student…played two seasons with Head Coach Scott Pickler at Cypress College in Cypress, California…made the final four both years and batted at least .320 in each of those two seasons…First-Team All-League, Second-Team All-Southern Section CIF and Offensive Player of the Year with Head Coach Burt Call at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California…played four years of club with the O.C. Crush, Trombley Bulldogs and O.C. Shockers…also played football…has played baseball for 17 years…bats left…throws right.

The person: Jason Edward was born in Long Beach, California on September 8, 1986 to parents Edward and Julie…also has an older sister…Sociology major…likes eating Italian food, and at “Chipotle”…favorite movie is “The Natural” and TV show is “Entourage”…favorite Bible verse is John 3:14…roots for the LA Dodgers…sports hero is Josh Hamilton…likes the color maroon and the number 36…most respects his dad because he’s the hardest working and most caring person in my life…learned in life that to live a good life you have to be a good person…baseball has taught him about dedication, commitment, hard work, mental toughness, team work and accountability…career goal is to make it to “the show”!
