2025: Hiner's third season came with the role of being one of the two 9-inning starters for VU, authoring a 5-5 record and 6.61 ERA. He was able to put together two games of 7IP to match his career-high, while also putting forth six starts of 6+IP. Hiner crossed the century-mark seven times, including a collegiate-high 112 at Hawaii Pacific (6IP). His first win of the season came at Concordia, recording 21 outs on four hits, one earned-run, two strikeouts, no walks and only one XBH on just 81 pitches. Hiner had a season-best four strikeouts in four different games. Hiner also had three consecutive starts end up as victories, with 6IP and 3ER versus Menlo, 7IP and 2ER at Biola, and 6IP and 2ER vs Jessup.
2024: Year two for Hiner saw him be utilized as a starter for six of his 13 outings. His second appearance was his first start of the season, and it came in Arizona for the East-West Challenge. Playing against #7 Bellevue (Neb.), Hiner had 5.1IP of no-hit ball before being lifted after just 46 pitches, still picking up the win. He followed that up with 7IP the next outing, hitting 100 pitches-even for the first time in his career. That matchup also saw him set a career-best in K's (6). Hiner picked up another win against Menlo with 5IP and 5K's on 66 pitches. Hiner finished with his best single-season ERA (5.58).
2023: Hiner's first year with the Blue and Gold saw him make eight appearances with one start. That lone start (vs Bethesda on April 11) coincided with his first career victory (5.2IP, 5H, 3R, 0ER, 2K, BB, 77TP), which was the only time he went longer than one inning. His first career outing was a clean inning with a pair of K's at Westcliff on January 28.
