The athlete: Isaac is one of three four-year seniors on the 2006 VU baseball team…is coming off a solid junior year…had a career-high 43 hits…has played in 123 games at Vanguard…has accumulated 106 hits and scored 62 runs as a Lion…speedy and talented outfielder…has been very reliable as VU’s center fielder…is not afraid to get dirty…brings a lot of heart to the field…shows determination and has a real passion for the game…fun player to watch…played baseball at Etiwanda High School…named first-team All-Mount Baldy League…has played the game for 17 years…bats left and throws left…scrappy player…excellent speed and range in the outfield…reads the ball well off the bat…smooth defensive skills…solid fundamentally with the bat…executes well…capable of doing the “little things” with the bat to help the team…leadoff batter for the Lions…look for Isaac’s hard work to pay off in his final season at Vanguard.

The person: Isaac was born in Monterey Park, California on May 9, 1984 to her parents Ted and Angel Salazar…has three sisters Monique, Celeste, and Janelle…is a Kinesiology major at VUSC…nickname is “Sac”…likes to eat at Mario’s Pizza…sports heroes are Jim Edmonds and Matt Franco…likes the movie “Blue Crush”…cheers for the LA Dodgers…loves to spend time at the beach…favorite number is ten…likes the color pink…enjoys body boarding and playing cards…loves the TV show “Friends”…would like to meet Mike Stewart…feels that the lack of education is the biggest problem in the world…has learned that life is tough, wear a helmet…competing in athletics has taught her to accept failure and enjoy success…wants to become a strength coach.

Isaac’s closing thoughts: Vanguard has been a great place for me over the past four years.  I hope people will remember me as a person of God and one who represents the core character values of “Gold Pride”.
