The athlete: Isaac enters the collegiate ranks this year…joins the Lions after playing baseball at Etiwanda High School…named first team All-Mount Baldy League…bats and throws left…scrappy player…excellent speed and range in the outfield…smooth defensive skills…solid fundamentally with the bat…executes well…capable of doing the “little” things with the bat to help the team…plays hard…fundamentally sound…is a pleasure to coach.

The person: Isaac was born on May 9, 1984 in Monterey Park, CA…parents are Ted and Angel Salazar…majoring in Pre-Physical Therapy…roots for the Dodgers…sports hero is Jim Edmonds…likes to eat at In-N-Out…enjoys body boarding…likes the group of diverse athletes on this year’s team…sports has taught him to work hard and have a good time while doing it…wants to become a Physical Therapist.

His thoughts: I selected Vanguard because I like the small intimate community and I also like the strong Christian influences on campus. The close proximity to the beach is also a plus.
