The athlete:  Dustin rejoins the Lions after a solid opening season…made a team-high 11 starts on the mound going 5-5 with a 3.56 ERA and four complete games…recorded a pair of saves and a pair of shutouts in a team-leading 83.1 innings…struck out 61 to just 22 walks in 17 total appearances…played a season at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas…played for Coach Pete Mejia at MCC after using a redshirt year at Baylor University…graduated from Pusch Ridge Christian Academy in Tucson, Arizona…team MVP as a senior in 2003…good control and pitch location…quality fastball…devastating change-up…good size and strength…right-hander with solid skills and experience…has played baseball for eight years…has great poise.

The person:  Dustin Reid Jones was born on November 14, 1984 in Covina, California to his parents Doug and Debbie Jones…has two younger brothers who also play baseball…majoring in Business Administration at Vanguard…loves his mom’s cooking and eating “Moose Tracks” ice cream…watches “Sportscenter” on television…loves the color blue and the number 24…favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 41:10…roots for Vanguard…enjoys hanging out with friends…says love is the most important characteristic for a person to have…most respects his parents because they taught him everything…learned that life is meaningless without God…baseball has taught him that hard work pays off…career goal is to glorify God in whatever he does..
