The athlete: David begins his career as a Lion and is a huge addition to the VU baseball program…came to VU from Mission Viejo High School…played under Chris Ashbach…All-Conference player…hits left and throws right…was a four-year varsity starter…is a top notch player with a lot of talent…will see a lot of playing time this year…a fierce competitor who brings a high level of character to our baseball program…the VU coaches are very excited to have David as a part of the program…look for David to have a great college career at Vanguard.

The person: David Joseph Hudgins was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 31, 1984…parents are Mike and Janiece Hudgins…has two brothers and a sister…nickname is “Hudgy”…sports hero is Orel Hershiser…favorite food is chicken…likes the TV show is “The Simpsons”…enjoys playing the guitar and baseball…roots for the Anaheim Angels…favorite movie is “Braveheart”…feels that this year’s team has talent and good team chemistry…sports has taught him how to overcome obstacles…has learned that life is hard… wants to meet Jesus…would like to become a successful baseball player.
