The athlete:  Dan begins his junior season after appearing in 41 games in 2008, making 34 starts…tied for the team lead with seven steals while notching a .248 batting average and 14 RBIs…was the primary speed threat as a freshman in 2007…appeared in 40 games scoring 18 runs in just 42 at-bats…led the team with 15 stolen bases in just 17 attempts…2006 graduate of Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix, Arizona…played for Coach Brandon Buck and holds the school record for triples…All-Region selection…also a high school boxer…carried a 3.2 GPA at MPHS…has played baseball for ten years…bats right…throws right…outfielder with blazing speed…hard worker with good pop at the plate…athletic young player.

The person:  Daniel was born on March 3, 1988 in Phoenix, Arizona to his parents Mike and Ann Black…has two sisters and one brother…friends just call him “Dan”…majoring in Accounting at Vanguard…sports hero is Randy Wishmyer…loves to eat at “Taco Bell”…favorite movie is “Anchorman”…likes the color green and the number 14…favorite TV show is “Arrested Development”…favorite Scripture is Gen. 1:1-2…says being tan is the most important characteristic for a person to have…learned in life to not leave macaroni in the sink over Thanksgiving break…baseball has taught him practice…career goal is to win a national championship.
