The athlete:  Dan returns to the Lions after being counted on as the primary speed threat as a freshman in 2007…appeared in 40 games scoring 18 runs in just 42 at-bats…led the team with 15 stolen bases in just 17 attempts…2006 graduate of Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix, Arizona…played for Coach Brandon Buck and holds the school record for triples…All-Region selection…also a high school boxer…carried a 3.2 GPA at MPHS…has played baseball for 11 years…bats right…throws right…outfielder with blazing speed…good pop at the plate…athletic young player…hard worker with solid potential.

The person:  Daniel was born on March 3, 1988 in Phoenix, Arizona to his parents Mike and Ann Black…has two sisters and one brother…friends just call him “Dan”…majoring in Accounting at Vanguard…sports hero is Randy Couture…loves to eat Mexican food at “Taco Bell”…favorite movie is “Anchorman”…likes the color green…favorite TV show is “The Office”…likes boxing…says faith is the most important characteristic for a person to have…learned in life to stay in prayer…baseball has taught him practice…career goal is to win a national championship.

His thoughts:  What I like most about Vanguard is the Christian environment.
