The athlete:  Dan begins his collegiate career with the Lions this season…2006 graduate of Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix, Arizona…played for Coach Brandon Buck and holds the school record for triples…All-Region selection…also a high school boxer…carried a 3.2 GPA at MPHS…has played baseball for ten years…bats right…throws right…outfielder with blazing speed…good pop at the plate…athletic young player…hard worker with solid potential…will look to gain experience as he plays his first season of college baseball.

The person:  Daniel was born on March 3, 1988 in Phoenix, Arizona to his parents Mike and Ann Black…has two sisters and one brother…friends just call him “Dan”…plans to major in Business at Vanguard…sports hero is Randy Couture…loves to eat chocolate cake and carrot cake…favorite movie is “Dumb And Dumber”…would like to meet Jesus Christ…thinks that the world’s biggest problem is the lack of morals…feels the presence of the Lord around the VU baseball team…has learned from life to work hard and let God sort things out…playing sports has shown him that he is not the best…wants to contribute to the team.

His thoughts:  I selected Vanguard because of the location, the atmosphere, and because it is a Christian school.
