The athlete:  Curt was an all-conference catcher for Pima Community College in 2000 where he played for Edgar Soto…was a four-time all-conference selection at Catalina Foothills High School prior to PCC…bats right and throws right…solid individual on and off the field who leads by example…has a substantial presence behind the plate and will lead the pitching staff…expected to produce offensively for the Lions this season.

The person:  Curt was born February 19, 1980 to Jack and Virginia Garner…Tucson, Arizona native…nickname is “Truck”…Business major…sports hero is his dad…roots for the LA Dodgers…enjoys snow skiing, golfing, surfing and weightlifting…favorite TV show is “King of Queens”…would like to meet Jesus Christ and the apostle Paul…has learned from athletics to have a positive outlook on everything and never give up on anything…likes the chemistry of this year’s team….wants to be a loving husband and father and a godly man.

His thoughts:  I feel like God called me to Vanguard.  I enjoy the atmosphere at VU and appreciate the fact that the campus is only 45 minutes from Dodger Stadium.
