Vanguard University

Michael Fuchs joins the Vanguard baseball program as an Assistant Coach for the 2024 season.

Fuchs is no stranger to Vanguard, who played for the Lions in the 2017 and 2018 seasons.  He played third base for the Lions in 2017 and shortstop in 2018, winning a Rawlings NAIA Gold Glove each year.  Prior to coming to VU, Fuchs played at Golden West College, winning Junior College Gold Gloves at third base in 2015 and 2016.  He was rewarded for his strong defensive play by signing a professional contract with the Los Angeles Angels organization in 2018.

Fuchs began his coaching career at Beckman High School for the 2018-2019 season before joining Corona High School for 2019-2020 school year.  He then spent the 2021-2022 year at Santa Margarita High School and was with the Irvine High School program last school year.

Fuchs completed his Bachelor's degree in liberal studies from Los Angeles Pacific University in 2019 and then received his Master's degree in Coaching and Exercise Sciences from Concordia University Irvine in 2021.

Fuchs is married and his wife, Adriana, went to Vanguard and was on the stunt team for the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
