Biography

The athlete:  Begins his second season with the Lions…Chad graduated from Tustin High School in 1998 where he was an all-conference selection and Pitcher of the Year…he transferred to VU from San Diego State University after being named Rookie of the Year his freshman season…bats left and throws left…has incredible athletic ability…named to the All-GSAC baseball team in 2001…has the potential to be one of the best players in the conference…works very hard at his game…led the team last season with a .416 BA…will see time on the mound, in the outfield, and as a hitter.

The person:  Chad was born March 21, 1980 in Orange, California…mother is Kathi O’Loughlin…father is Charles Chop…nickname is “The Rammer”… Business student at VU…sports hero is Pele…enjoys watching SportsCenter…cheers on the Anaheim Angels and the Los Angeles Lakers…favorite movie is “The Big Lebowski”…enjoys snorkeling…competing in athletics has taught him perseverance…wants to become Christ-like.

His thoughts:  I wanted the Christian teammates and the education that VU offered. I really like the location and feel God’s presence on campus.
