The athlete: Brian begins his junior season in 2009…played one season at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, California with Head Coach Jeff Harlow in 2007 and was 5-4 in 11 starts…struck out 54 in 62.2 innings pitched with a 2.87 ERA…CIF champion in 2005 with Head Coach Nowlton at Serrano High School…All-CIF twice and All-League twice in high school…played three years of club ball for he Orange County Giants…has played baseball for 15 years…bats and throws right.

The person: Brian Charles was born in Pomona, California on August 13, 1988 to parents Charles and Nancy…has one younger brother and sister…Liberal Studies major…likes eating all-you-can-eat sushi…favorite movie is “The Sandlot” and TV show is “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”…favorite Bible verse is John 1:1…roots for the USC Trojans…sports hero is John Smoltz…likes the color blue and the number 13…most respects his dad because he is someone he will always look up to…learned in life to live every day as it’s your last…baseball has taught him to never quit…career goals are to play baseball and be a second grade teacher.
