The athlete: Brandon joins the Lions this semester after transferring over from Concordia University, Irvine…competed one season for the Eagles…graduated from Fountain Valley High School in 1998, where he played for coach Ron La Ruffa in the Sunset League…also played two seasons for Golden West College…has one season of eligibility remaining…switch hitting catcher should add some depth to the VU line up…will battle for playing time…has proven to hit for average…solid addition to the Lions program…should be capable of contributing to the team in his first semester with Vanguard.

The person: Brandon Joseph Cox was born on July 1, 1980 in Fountain Valley, California…is the only child of Ron and Barbara Cox…nickname is “Coxxy”…favorite food is sushi…loves watching “The Simpsons” on TV…cheers for the Chicago White Sox baseball team…would like to meet Jimi Hendrix…sports has taught him that hard work pays off…has learned from life that God works in mysterious ways…wants to become a successful man.

His thoughts: I chose VU because it is in a great location and I like the Christian atmosphere. I also wanted to play baseball for the Lions.
