The athlete: Bishop is in his fourth and final season as a Lion…the senior southpaw made 12 appearances on the mound last season…posted a 3.29 earned run average in 13.2 innings of relief work…local athlete who graduated from Los Amigos High School in Fountain Valley…holds LAHS record for strikeouts and innings pitched…career high is 10 strikeouts in one game…bats left and throws left…is a determined athlete and is always looking for ways to get better...provides valid relief work from the left side…not overpowering but can locate the ball well…has contributed a great deal and is determined to help the team be successful…looking for Bishop to have a solid senior season.

 The person: Bishop was born on December 12, 1081 in Fountain Valley, California to Jim and Rosie Griggs…is a History/ Political Science major…likes to eat pizza…sports hero is Nolan Ryan…cheers for the Anaheim Angels…favorite movie is “Lord of the Rings”… feels the world’s biggest problem is ignorance…feels this year’s team has a lot of depth at each position…athletics has taught him that teamwork is very important…seeks a career as a History Teacher.
