The athlete:  Ben brings a strong presence to the Vanguard roster offensively and defensively…junior catcher who played for Coach Don Sneddon at Santa Ana College after graduating from Capistrano Valley High School in 2003…played for Coach Bob Zamora in the South Coast League at CVHS…All-CIF selection…two-time All-League player…hit .467 as a freshman on the varsity high school team…has played baseball since he was five years old…big, strong catcher…hard worker…good hitter…should make an immediate impact for the Lions…experienced catcher who will provide leadership and add power to the lineup in his first year at Vanguard.

The person:  Benjamin Lee Linn was born on December 9, 1984 in Midway City, California…parents are Tim and Sue Linn…is an Accounting major at VUSC…nickname is “Sampson”…favorite professional player is Vladimir Guerrero…likes to eat steak and sushi…watches “The Sopranos” on television…likes the color black…cheers for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Angels…hobbies are playing sports and video games…enjoys spending time at home…feels that terrorists and taxes are the biggest problems in the world…appreciates his VU teammates…competing in baseball has taught him about dedication, teamwork, and having fun…wants to be successful in life and have a great family.
