The athlete: Andy enters his second season with the Lions…recorded five doubles and 12 runs batted in as a freshman last season…graduated from El Modena High School in 2001 where he played baseball for Coach Steve Bernard…was a Century League All-Star…bats and throw right…solid defensive skills at several positions…played in all but 10 games as a rookie and started in over half of the games…provides consistent production as a role player…hopes to increase his offensive output this year and help the team be successful in 2003.

The person: Edward Andrew Freeman was born on June 19, 1983 in Fountain Valley, California…father is Fred Freeman…call him “Andy”…majoring in Accounting…roots for the LA Lakers, the St. Louis Rams and the Anaheim Angels…sports hero is David Eckstein… likes to watch the TV show “Friends”…enjoys playing baseball and hanging out with friends…thinks the best thing about this year’s team is the talent…wants to become an Accountant.

His thoughts: I selected Vanguard University because it’s a small campus and has a good Christian environment. I appreciate the friends that I have made here.
