The athlete: Andrew joins the VU baseball team after spending a year at San Diego State University…did not compete in athletics…played his high school ball at Mt. Whitney HS in Visalia, CA...played for coaches Mike Lewis and Dan Hydash…has a quick arm…solid 12/6 breaking ball…looks to compete for a starting job…has the stuff to be a closer…will be his first year as just a pitcher…a young player with a lot of talent and potential…look for Andrew to make a mark in the conference this year.

The person: Andrew Gregory Riddle was born on March 2, 1984 in Visalia, California…son of Greg Riddle and Joellen Gilman…has four siblings…nickname is “Riddler”…sports hero is Paul Lo Duca…loves to eat pizza…favorite TV show is “Baseball Tonight”…roots for the LA Dodgers…enjoys reading Sports Illustrated…biggest problem in the world is ignorant people…best thing about this year’s team is the team unity and a great new coach…has learned in life that there are a lot of twists and turns…sports has taught him to never give up, work hard and good things will happen…would like to be a baseball player or have a career in the sports business.

His thoughts: I chose Vanguard because of the atmosphere I felt when I was on campus.
