The athlete: Adam prepares himself for his sophomore year after a stellar freshman outing…made the All-GSAC and Region II teams as a freshman…hit .357 and played in 46 of 48 games…established a .970 fielding percentage… played high school baseball at Liberty High School in Bakersfield, California…played for coach Rob Amble in the South East Yosemite League…received the conference MVP award…All-Area Team member…has played baseball for 14 years…bats right and throws right…also competed in gymnastics in high school…sophomore with a lot of athletic ability…will be the starting left fielder when the season begins…brings a pleasant approach to the game…works very hard on and off the field…has leadership capabilities…great role model on campus…look for Yoder to have another solid season as a sophomore.

The person: Adam Everett Yoder was born on November 6, 1984 in Iowa City, Iowa…son of Roger and Dixie Yoder…has two brothers, Luke and Dale, and a sister Hannah…nickname is “AY”…majoring in Business…sports hero is Alex Rodriguez…favorite TV show is “Everybody loves Raymond”…loves to eat pasta…roots for the Seattle Mariners…likes to read the book of Philippians…best thing about this year’s team is the fresh start…learned that the most important thing in life is your relationship with Jesus Christ…sports has taught him that baseball is important but it’s not life…wants to become a husband, father and a Godly man that works in ministry.

His thoughts: I chose Vanguard because of the Christian environment and the small school atmosphere.
