The athlete:  Adam joins the Lions from Irvine Valley College where he played two seasons…played for Coach Kent Madole in the Orange Empire conference at IVC…graduated from Foothill High School in Santa Ana in 2002…Second-Team All-Century League player as a senior…earned Gold Glove award in 2001…two-sports high school athlete…has played baseball for 15 years…also competed for the Devil Rays and Braves scout teams…went to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point after high school but did not play…bats right…throws right…catcher who brings in solid experience…should contribute immediately for the Lions…strong player…good power at the plate…good arm strength…should have a solid two-year career at Vanguard.

The person:  Adam was born on December 13, 1983 in Santa Ana, California…mother is Leslie Hastings…has one brother who plays football…nickname is “Paul Bunyan”…is a Business Administration major…favorite athlete is Dennis Rodman…likes to eat orange chicken…loves the movie “The Rookie” and the TV show “One Tree Hill”…favors the color blue and number 13…cheers for the NY Yankees…loves spending time working out, listening to music and reading…would like to meet Michael Jordan…thinks that a lack of compassion is the biggest problem in the world…likes how well his teammates get along…has learned from life that there is no guarantee of a tomorrow…competing in sports has taught him about failure…wants to become a CHP officer.
