COSTA MESA -- Vanguard track and field is ready to announce the 2025 schedule as the athletes gear up for their first quest for Pacific West Conference glory. The Lions will have 10 meets from February to April to improve their marks before the PacWest Conference Championships are held at Fresno Pacific on April 25-26.
The Blue and Gold will start the season with the OIDFE Challenge at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on February 1, the first of two events at CMS. The Riverside Community College Early Bird event on February 7-8 will follow, with the Soka Indoor Event next in the queue on February 15. The final event in the month will have VU return to CMS for the Carl Rossi Relays on the 22nd.
Four events occur in March, beginning with the Occidental Invitational on the eighth. The program will then head south for the Ross & Sharon Irwin Meet at Point Loma on the 15th and return to the San Diego area the ensuing weekend for the San Diego State Aztec Invitational on the 21st-22nd. The month closes with the Vince O'Boyle Invitational on March 28th-29th at UC Irvine, the closest event of the campaign.
Before the conference championships, the Blue and Gold partake in two meets starting with UC San Diego Triton Invitational on April 5. However, that should be a split-squad day, as VU will ideally send a number of qualified participants to the Stanford Invitational that same weekend. Everyone will then come together one last time on April 12 for the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational to conclude the regular season, giving the squad two weeks to prepare for the conference finale.
