KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Eighteen student-athlete members of the Vanguard men's and women's track and field teams achieved Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete status for the 2022-23 season on Wednesday afternoon.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended at least one full year at the institution.

Representing the men's track and field team were Justin Bartlebaugh, Kuba Bartnik, Evan Hernandez, Blake Rodriguez and Nolan Torres. Bartlebaugh and Torres received the award for the second time in their Blue and Gold careers.

The women's track and field team placed Nohemi Anderson, Kate Baranski, Eryn Burke, Jordyn Burke, Brooke Dalgity, Jane Freeman, Faith Hunt, Kaylee Jones, Penelopi Leach, India Moors, Jessina Morales, Isabella Nelson and Rebekah Pinedo on the list. Repeat selections included Anderson, Freeman, Hunt and Leach – all whom also earned the award in 2021-22.

A total of 1,881 women's and men's student-athletes were recognized nationally.
