FULLERTON, Calif. -- The Vanguard dance program faced the Hope International Royals on Thursday night, as the teams threw down two routines during the halftime of each basketball game at Darling Pavilion. The Lions were tested the most in the first match, as the squad posted a score of 89, just holding on against the score of 87 that the Royals secured. The Blue and Gold upped the ante for the second competition, as VU scored a 93, easily clearing the 84 that Hope would garner to go 2-0 at HIU.
"I'm really proud of this group of girls," said Head Coach
Taylor Smith. "They really pushed through the two routines and performed well. I'm happy to say we started off our NAIA season with two wins and look forward to building off this as we go into our tri-dual here in a couple of weeks."
What's Next? The Lions will take on Pikeville and Aquinas in a virtual dual on February 12, starting at 2:00 p.m. Fans can come to watch the routine inside the forum at the Waugh Student Center or watch on the website.
