Madison Dimino Named the Head Coach of VU Dance

COSTA MESA -- Vanguard Athletics is pleased to announce that Madison Dimino has been elevated to the Head Coach of the VU dance team, becoming the second coach in the history of the program.  "We are thrilled to promote Madison Dimino to Head Dance Coach at Vanguard University," said Athletic Director Jeff Bussell.  "A standout leader during her time as a student at Vanguard, Madison has brought the same passion and dedication to her role as assistant coach over the past two years. Her deep commitment to investing in the lives of our student-athletes, both on and off the floor, has been evident and impactful. Madison's vision for the program aligns seamlessly with our mission to glorify God in all we do. We are confident she will continue to lead with excellence, integrity, and purpose in this new role."

Dimino is no stranger to the team and brings 20 years of dancing experience to her new role.  She spent the last two years as an assistant coach to Taylor Smith, helping the competition team solidify its routines for the National Dance Alliance Championships.  In 2024, the first year of NDA competition for the Blue and Gold, Dimino aided the group in winning an NAIA Pom Championship in Daytona Beach in addition to a fourth-place finish in NAIA hip hop.  This past year, Vanguard competed in the NCAA Division II level and placed fifth in pom and sixth in hip hop for a strong debut in the new section.

"I'm extremely excited to start this season strong and continue to grow the program to its full potential," relayed Dimino.  "While putting our faith in the Lord, I want to provide the team with the skills, guidance, and resources they need to succeed with their passion, dedication, and hard work."

As a two-year member of the VU squad, Dimino was a part of the first two competition teams on campus and helped the group win events in New Orleans on debut before placing third at two NAIA regional events over two years.  Last year, she was the Head Coach for the VU Spirit Team, which performed at home events on campus.
