TUSTIN, Calif. - The Vanguard Lions took to Tustin Ranch Golf Club on Monday to battle the Chapman University Panthers for the second time in less than a month. A day after winning a four-team tournament, the Blue and Gold were defeated by a 333-353 stroke count. Malia Kiger (FR/Hermosa Beach, CA) led the team with a seven over 79 total which was one stroke from tying for the lead. 

Mackenzie McMillen shot an 87 which placed her fifth between the two teams; Alyse Padilla (JR/Modesto, CA) finished third for the Pride and seventh overall by shooting a 90 across the 18 holes which was 18 over par. Kylie Takata (JR/Tracey, CA) rounded out scoring for the Blue and Gold with a 97. Belle Morales' (SR/Tucson, AZ) score of 100 and Galina Tresslor (FR/La Habra, CA)'s 106 were not factored into the teams overall count as only the top four scores are recorded for team score purposes. 

Tustin Ranch Golf Club features a signature Ted Robinson designed golf course that the readers of the Orange County Register have consistently voted the best "Orange County Golf Course and Driving Range" for multiple years. Additionally, California Golf Course Owner's Association voted the Tustin Golf Club the "CGCOA Course of the Year" for 2008. The 165-acre property winds through the foothills of the communities, and is dotted with several man made lakes. Golf Digest Magazine ranked the challenging Tustin Ranch Golf Club four-stars several years in a row.
