Vanguard Pushes Win Streak to Seven

COSTA MESA, Calif. — Vanguard University completed the Golden State Athletic Conference series against San Diego Christian College with a trip to the broom closet. In the day's opener, the Lions were hot out of the dugout and kept the fire blazing throughout all nine innings. Michael Kashou (SO/Anaheim, CA) carried the Pride through seven innings and Dylan Ramie (SR/Ewa Beach, HI) recorded his first collegiate home run to secure the victory. Sam Neufeld (JR/Indio, CA) hit a home run in the series finale to overcome the Hawks and reclaim the lead, and Schyuler Hill put seven innings of work in to keep the Hawks at bay. The day's wins extend the Pride's win streak to seven games, the highest it has been this season.

We played baseball like we know how," Ramie said. Tanner Perry (SR/El Cajon, CA) chimed in and said trusting in each other has been a key element of this series. Ramie also commented on his momentum boosting home run. "It was a great feeling; I'm glad it finally happened. It was cool seeing how excited the whole team got for me." The Blue and Gold take a six day break before their next series against the Master's University. "We'll take it one day at a time, game to game," Ramie said on the remaining seven games of the regular season. "We have to make sure we play well in each game that comes up and try not to get too ahead of ourselves."
