Jada Wynn joined VU Athletics ahead of the 2026-27 school year after four years of playing at the NCAA Division I level. Wynn will have a role in all facets of running the program with Coach Davis.
Wynn is fresh off her final year as a collegiate player and was named the Big West Newcomer of the Year at UC Irvine and a First Team All-Conference player. Wynn helped UCI capture its second Big West regular-season title in the past four years and secured a playoff appearance for the fourth time in the past five years (Big West Tournament and Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament) as a captain on the squad. As the second player to be named as the Newcomer of the Year in program history, Wynn averaged 15 points per game, 7.2 rebounds per contest, and led UCI with 125 assists in her final stint. She tallied 496 points, with her calling card being her deep shot, as she splashed down at a 40.2% clip from beyond the arc, ranking in the Big West in threes made and third in three-point shooting percentage. She was so prolific from downtown that she ended second all-time for triples made in a single season with 76. With 21 games with at least two conversions from deep, Wynn had three games when she buried five. She only had five games with under 10 points scored and posted eight with over 20, with 25 against CSU Bakersfield being her best. At year’s end, Wynn was listed inside the top 10 in the Big West in assists (fourth), rebounds (eighth), and scoring (ninth). On the academic front, Wynn made the Dean’s List and graduated with her degree in sociology, and she earned a CSC All-District Team nod.
Prior to her arrival at UCI, Wynn played two seasons at Texas Tech for her sophomore and junior years, with the team selecting her as a captain in year two at TTU. She assisted the Lady Raiders in getting to the Big 12 Tournament in each season, while the program got a selection to the WBIT her junior year. Wynn started her collegiate playing career at Colorado, appearing in 32 games and dropping nine points during her debut against New Mexico State. She was third on the team with 24 conversions from downtown and helped the Buffaloes reach the Sweet 16 after a third-place finish in the Pac-12. For her success, she was a McDonald’s All-American Nominee.
As a coach, Wynn has helped at the Adidas All-American Camp, where she coached and evaluated over 200 elite high school athletes in group and individual settings. She was a camp coach and counselor during her two years at Texas Tech, where she coached the youth athletes who came for camps and clinics in Lubbock. Despite being away at school for a couple of years, Wynn has remained an independent skill trainer in Orange County since 2022, where she has provided individual and small group instruction, along with Division I recruiting guidance.
