The athlete: Chelsea returns to VUSC for her fourth and final season in the Blue and Gold?has been a top-five runner for her entire career as a Lion?has a PR of 18:26, set a season ago?was the No. 2 runner for the Pride last season?qualified for both Indoor and Outdoor Nationals last spring, as a member of the Track and Field team ?won the team's Most Inspirational Athlete Award as well as the Most Improved as a freshman?came to VU after an MVP season at Calvary Chapel High School in Santa Ana, California for Head Coach Derek DeCicco?high school record-holder in the mile and two-mile runs?has ran track for five years?also played three years of basketball and a year of varsity soccer?ran an 18:33 in the 3-mile during the CIF Finals?very gifted runner?school record holder in the 3,000m steeplechase ?should continue to blossom as an upperclassman with experience?her senior season could be the breakout year where she qualifies for Nationals.
