Ben Vaught was born on October 26th, 1996 in Newport Beach California. Ben has one older sister, Emily, who he says is his biggest fan, and parents, Rebecca and Alan. Ben grew up in Huntington Beach where he learned to play beach volleyball at the Huntington Pier. He also competed for his local High School team where he was a 4-year varsity indoor player, and 3 time CIF and State Champion. During his senior year, he was awarded 1st team All-American award.

After giving college indoor a try at the University of Hawaii, he decided to pursue beach volleyball full time while attending California Baptist University. Ben made his AVP debut in the Huntington Beach Open after upsetting Reid Priddy and Chaim Schalk in 2017. Ben went on to be nominated for Rookie of the Year and Newcomer of the Year that season. In addition, Ben has represented the United States in Switzerland, Dominican Republic, Cayman Islands, and France bringing home a Bronze medal, and a silver medal.
